MY HOURLY RATE IS $150.
This rate is for installation, consultation, or both.

WHEN I BRING AN ASSISTANT (discussed with you in advance) THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE OF $100 WHICH COVERS UP TO TWO HOURS (and an additional $50 per hour after the first two hours). This money all goes to the assistant — I do not take a portion.

MINIMUM CHARGE: Jobs in zip codes within my normal service area have a minimum charge of one hour. Jobs in zip codes outside of my normal service area have two or three hour minimums because of the driving distance/time. Here is the service area chart.

MATERIALS: There is usually a small charge for the materials I use to install your pictures. It is typically $1 to $3 for each small to medium-sized lightweight picture, and $2 to $4 for each large picture. Occasionally special hardware is needed, and if so I will discuss the cost of that with you in advance.

FORMS OF PAYMENT: Zelle, Venmo, check, or exact-change cash (I CANNOT ACCEPT CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS). Payment is due at the end of the day’s work unless prior arrangements have been agreed upon by both of us. You will receive a hand-written receipt upon payment.

(Since the work is charged by the hour, here is some info to help you get an idea of how long it may take to hang your artwork.)

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to hang my paintings or other items?

The short answer is: it depends on a lot of factors. I am happy to discuss your particular situation in detail over text or phone or email. The more detail you are able to give me at that time (possibly including you sending me photos of specific things I ask for) the more likely I can give you at least a close estimate. Here is the longer answer.

Do you give quotes or consultations?

I am happy to discuss pricing over text, email, or phone, and will give as accurate an estimate as I can based on the information you can give me about your particular needs. For an in-person quote, estimate, or consultation, I charge a flat fee of $150 for up to one hour (and a rate of $150 per hour after the first hour).

Do you work alone or with a crew or an assistant?

I typically work alone, so it is crucial that I learn from you in advance (through some questions and answers) whether an assistant will be needed. An assistant may be needed: to lift some larger or heavier pieces, including most mirrors; or because there is ladder work involving anything other than very small pieces; or on larger jobs (20 or more pieces). You will always know in advance whether I will be bringing an assistant. The cost of an assistant is discussed above, in the Rates section.

If you choose to provide and pay your own handyperson or other able person to help me, that is perfectly fine as long as you let me know before I book an assistant for your job. But please note that I can’t in any way be responsible for the safety (e.g., workplace injuries) or actions of anyone other than my own assistants.

Can you transport my items from the frame shop, gallery, storage facility, or between homes or offices?

No. At this time I am unable to do any transport of art.

Are you insured for your installation services?

Yes. I carry commercial liability insurance (covering installation-related damage) from an A.M. Best A+ rated insurance company.
